Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Kids Color Station collects, why, and the choices available to you. It describes the site as it works today.

Effective / last updated:

1. Who we are

Kids Color Station is the public name of this website (kidscolorstation.com). It offers a curated library of printable coloring pages, Custom Create for one-of-a-kind pages, and Printable Packs as PDF sets.

For privacy questions or requests, use the Contact page. This policy does not publish a personal owner name or claim a specific registered business entity.

Attorney review item: whether additional legal operator identity or business contact details must appear in this policy under applicable law.

2. Information we collect

Depending on how you use the site, we may process:

  • Information you provide — Custom Create prompts and category choices; optional Google sign-in email used for authentication and higher daily Custom Create limits; messages you send through the Contact form; and, if you choose an adult email signup when that feature is available, the email address you submit with marketing consent.
  • Technical information — approximate IP address and related request data used for Custom Create rate limits and basic service operation; browser and device information typically available to any website.
  • Local identifiers — a privacy-preference record on your device; when you use Custom Create without signing in, a local anonymous ID used for daily generation limits.
  • Usage events (optional) — if you allow analytics, Google Analytics may receive page views and product events such as searches, downloads, prints, and Custom Create activity indicators (not raw prompts).

3. How we use information

  • Provide the library, Printable Packs, downloads, and printing tools
  • Run Custom Create, including content moderation and image generation
  • Enforce daily Custom Create limits
  • Respond to Contact messages
  • Understand site usage when analytics are allowed
  • Maintain security and reliability of the service

We do not use your Google sign-in email for marketing newsletters. Optional adult email signup is a separate action and is never filled in from a Google account automatically.

4. Cookies and browser storage

Kids Color Station uses browser local storage for necessary functions and, if you allow it, for remembering that analytics are permitted.

  • kcs-privacy-preferences — versioned record of your analytics choice
  • anonymous_user_id — local ID for Custom Create daily limits when you are not signed in

Google Analytics may set its own cookies or similar storage only after you allow analytics. Advertising cookies from Google AdSense are not used on the site at this time.

5. Analytics

Optional Google Analytics 4 helps Kids Color Station understand page views, traffic sources, popular content, searches, downloads, prints, and Custom Create usage. The analytics script is not loaded until you choose Allow analytics.

You can allow or decline analytics in the first-visit notice or at any time on Privacy preferences. Declining analytics does not block browsing, downloads, or printing.

6. Custom Create

When you use Custom Create, your prompt and related options are sent to our servers and to the image-generation and moderation providers we use (currently OpenAI) to create a preview. Generated images are stored in cloud storage so you can download them. Some storage locations may be reachable by direct URL even though custom pages are not listed in the public curated library.

Servers may also log prompts for debugging and abuse prevention. Signed-in accounts may have generation metadata (such as image URL, category, and time) stored in our database.

7. Contact messages

The Contact page uses Cognito Forms, a third-party form service. Information you enter there is processed by Cognito Forms to deliver your message. See also Cognito Forms’ own privacy information for how that provider handles form data.

8. Optional adult email signup

Kids Color Station may offer an optional email signup for parents, caregivers, teachers, and other adults who want a printable activity pack notice and occasional activity updates. The signup asks only for an adult email address and an explicit marketing-consent checkbox. It does not ask for a child’s name, email, age, photo, or school identifiers.

This signup is separate from Google authentication. Signing in with Google does not subscribe you to marketing email, and we do not reuse a Google sign-in email for newsletters.

Free coloring-page and Printable Pack downloads are not gated behind email signup. You can browse, download, and print without joining a list.

When adult email signup is enabled in a given deployment, we process newsletter subscriptions through our email service provider (currently Resend for the custom confirmation flow, with MailerLite available as a temporary alternative configuration). Confirmation uses a double-opt-in step so that a marketing contact is created only after you intentionally confirm. Unsubscribe and broadcast suppression are handled through the provider's contact and topic tools. If you decline analytics, no lead analytics event is sent.

Attorney / owner review item: name the email-list processor once chosen; document retention, unsubscribe, export, and deletion procedures that the product actually supports; do not claim automatic deletion or guaranteed delivery until implemented.

9. Service providers

We use contracted providers to operate the site. That is different from selling personal information. Providers may include:

  • Hosting and infrastructure (including Firebase / Google Cloud services)
  • Google Authentication when you sign in
  • OpenAI for Custom Create moderation and image generation
  • Google Analytics when you allow analytics
  • Cognito Forms for Contact submissions
  • Email delivery and contact tools (Resend and/or MailerLite, depending on deployment configuration) for adult newsletter signup

These providers process information on our behalf or as independent services needed to run a feature you use. This policy does not claim that data is “never shared” when a processor is required to deliver a feature you choose.

10. Retention

We keep information as long as needed to operate Custom Create limits, deliver downloads, respond to messages, secure the service, and meet legal obligations. Exact deletion schedules are not fully automated in the current product. If you want a specific item reviewed for deletion, contact us through the Contact page.

Attorney review item: whether fixed retention periods should be published for prompts, stored images, Cognito messages, and (when configured) newsletter subscriber records.

11. Your choices

  • Allow or decline analytics on Privacy preferences
  • Use the library and packs without creating an account
  • Use Custom Create without signing in (lower daily limit)
  • Sign in with Google only if you want higher Custom Create limits
  • Skip optional adult email signup; downloads and printing remain available either way
  • Contact us about privacy questions or requests

12. Children's privacy

Kids Color Station is written for adults — parents, caregivers, homeschool families, and teachers — who select and print activities for children. Custom Create asks an adult-helping confirmation. Google sign-in should be handled by an adult.

Children may still be able to use parts of the site if they reach it. We do not knowingly market the service as a place for children under 13 to create accounts or submit personal information on their own. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information through Contact or Custom Create, please contact us so we can review the situation.

Attorney review item: COPPA and child-directed advertising analysis for this family-oriented service. This policy does not claim COPPA compliance.

13. Security

We use standard hosting and authentication tools to protect the service. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

14. Requests and questions

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to ask about, correct, or delete personal information, or to object to certain processing. Send privacy requests through the Contact page. We may need to verify the request before acting on it.

Attorney review item: jurisdiction-specific privacy rights language (for example state or international notices) if required.

15. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy when the service or practices change. The effective date at the top will be revised when that happens. Continued use of the site after an update means the updated policy applies to later use.
